Mechcanical Design Engineer


Summary:
Work is performed within established professional standards. Work on problems of moderate to difficult scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors and a considerable degree of judgment. Must be able to work under minimum supervision. Collaborates with others on matters outside of job/role scope. Work may be reviewed for application of sound technical judgment. Build internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers, and internal services.


Responsibilities :
  • Develop mechanical fixtures for power supply manufacturing process and test solutions utilizing 3D solid modeling software (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Develops new or modifies and improves existing designs or techniques related to products, devices, processes, equipment, or production within specified areas of expertise.
  • Conducts the appropriate research, analysis, and experiments to complete the task.
  • Documents work according to procedures established for the team.
  • Reviews, interprets, and negotiates specifications.
  • Proposes solutions to meet specifications including architecture, schedules, technical risks, resource requirements, etc.
  • Generate detail drawings and bills of materials.
  • Provide mechanical tool design support.
  • Maintain design integrity of appropriate designs through the use of CAD systems.


  • Education/Experience:
    • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment used for automated systems.
    • In-depth knowledge of materials and components used in the construction of automated systems.
    • Ability to design for test and recommend solutions to improve the processes associated with SMT and test in manufacturing.
    • Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.
    • Experience with CAD applications specific to this position, such as SolidWorks.
    • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
    • Eight years minimum relevant experience.
